Tell Me What I'm Missing (book edition)

by Andy Jay Bennett

I read a lot of books last year. Thanks to a bunch of trips to Minneapolis for a writer's mentorship, I read some of them via audiobook. But still, a lot of books. Not as many books as Daves that Bruce knows, but ...

...but, still. A lot of books. Here are my top 10 of the year:

  1. Tenth of December by George Saunders
  2. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
  3. The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach
  4. The Round House by Louise Erdich
  5. Behind The Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo
  6. CivilWarLand In Bad Decline by George Saunders
  7. It Takes Your Over by Nick Healy (Minnesota author. Short Story collection. Dynamite. Frigging dynamite.)
  8. The Passage by Justin Cronin
  9. Doctor Sleep by Stephen King
  10. The Healing by Jonathan Odell / The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey (tied)

All told, I read 39 books in 2013.

This year, I'm hoping to beat it by one. 40 books.

And I'm also going to try and catch up on some classics I've been neglecting. First up is Catcher In The Rye. I'll also get to The Great Gatsby at some point. In fact, here's the full list of books I'm planning on reading this year:

I await your comments!
